What are glass to metal seals? Glad you asked, because not many people outside of the industry know. Simply put, a glass to metal seal is a piece of glass bonded to metal by firing it through a furnace. The vast majority of our seals have a metal pin intersecting the glass. After we sell our product, our customers will attach their electronics to one end of the pin. The electrical current is passed through the pin, but the electronic components are kept safe because the glass seal prevents any liquids or gases from passing through to potentially ruin the electronic components.
